Remember how i said that wow was not the first mmo ever? well here is the proof and my favorite mmo ever Dark Age of Camelot yes, it was based around zerging but still the concept was a head of its time, 3 realm battle for control with historical overtones:

wow was actually made for the profit of the mmo market but not just this game, Daoc was a nail in the coffin for money in Blizzard Entertainment marketing deposits, free battle-net was cool but not cost effective.
